Extension Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Cosee Studio — Clip Products browser extension. Your use of the Cosee Studio web app and your Cosee account are covered by our main privacy policy; this page explains only what the extension itself does on your computer and in your browser.

The short version: the extension reads a product page when you click its toolbar icon on that page, and sends what it read to Cosee so we can build the item in your project. It does not run on other pages, it does not track where you browse, and it contains no advertising or analytics code.

1. What the Extension Reads, and When

The extension reads a web page only when you click the Cosee toolbar icon while that page is open. There is no background script watching your browsing. Chrome enforces this: the extension requests the activeTab permission, which grants access to a single tab, at the moment of your click, and nothing else.

When you click, the extension reads the following from that page:

  • The page's address (URL) and title
  • Product details the page publishes about itself: name, description, price, currency, brand, and the page's own content type
  • Up to 8 candidate product image addresses
  • A short excerpt of the page's main text, capped at roughly 4,000 characters

It does not read form fields, passwords, cookies, payment details, or anything on other tabs.

2. What Is Sent to Cosee, and Why

When you clip a page, the extension sends the information above to Cosee's servers, along with which of your projects the clip should land in and — if you set them — the category and location you pinned. We use it to create the item in your project:

  • We fetch the product photo so the item has an image.
  • We use an AI model to write the item's name and description from the page's text and photo, and to pick a category from the categories that already exist in your project. The model is never asked to create new categories, and page content sent for this purpose is used to produce your item and for nothing else.
  • We store the finished item — its photo, name, description, price, source link, and the category and location you chose — in your project, exactly as if you had added it in the web app.

We do not sell this information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

3. What Is Stored on Your Computer

The extension keeps a small amount of data in your browser's extension storage:

  • Your Cosee session tokens — so you connect once instead of signing in for every clip
  • A cached list of your project names and thumbnails — so the panel opens instantly instead of waiting on the network
  • Your pinned destination (project, category, location) — so every clip lands in the same place until you change it
  • Pending clips (page address, title, thumbnail, status) — so a clip survives your browser closing mid-capture and finishes

All of it is deleted when you disconnect the extension, and it is removed with the extension when you uninstall. Your access token is held in session storage, which is never written to disk and is not readable by any web page.

4. Signing In

The extension never sees your password. When you connect it, Chrome opens a Cosee page in a normal browser window where you sign in — or where you simply confirm, if you are already signed in — and Cosee hands the extension a token limited to two abilities: read your project list, and add items to your projects. That token cannot read your account settings, your billing, your clients, or anything else in Cosee. You can revoke it at any time from your Cosee account's active sessions, and disconnecting in the panel revokes it too.

5. Analytics and Advertising

The extension contains no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no third-party scripts. All of its code is packaged in the extension itself; nothing is downloaded and executed at runtime.

Cosee does record, on our servers, that a clip happened and whether it succeeded — the vendor domain and the outcome — so we can tell which vendor sites need work. That record is tied to your account, not to your browsing.

6. Service Providers

We use Amazon Web Services to host Cosee and to store your project files, and a third-party AI provider to write item names and descriptions. They process this information on our instructions to run the service.

7. Children

Cosee Studio is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we change what the extension collects or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships.
